Recently, Amy Coney Barrett was appointed to the Supreme Court, which was a pleasant surprise for many who have been yearning for someone so relatable to take up the mantle of the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
What makes Barrett stand out from others is not only her impressive political and academic resume, but also the fact that she has long juggled a hectic work-life balance, much like a majority of Americans. Barrett is a married woman with seven children, two of which were adopted orphans from Haiti, and her youngest being a special needs child. For years, Barrett has been an incredibly hands-on mother, devoted wife, and excellent wife to many while still making huge strides in her professional career, such as serving as a judge on the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and writing more than 100 decisions in the past 2 1/2 years.
Citizens, especially professional women, look up to Barrett as a role model because of what she’s accomplished as a mother and as a full-time worker. She has demonstrated the tenacity and dedication that people want from a leader, and the hard-working mothers of America are looking up to Barrett and hoping that she indeed gets to sit on the Supreme Court.
