HBO has never been afraid to push the envelope with its content, but the latest movie coming to the network, Unpregnant, is crossing the line by making a joke out of abortion.
The film follows a teenage woman who accidentally becomes pregnant and, rather than turn to her parents for guidance, decides to get an abortion. However, abortion is illegal in her state, so she decides to recruit her best friend to accompany her on a road trip to the nearest abortion clinic. This journey is said to be filled with all kinds of hysterical shenanigans and tribulations that seem to make a tasteless mockery of the solemn concept of abortion. Apparently, the makers of the film want to mask the tragedy and heartbreak that accompany the killing of an unborn baby and instead mask it with humor, which would only compound the pain felt by those who have had to go through the terrible ordeal themselves.
