It’s heartbreaking to see my home state moving forward on doctor-prescribed suicide. The other states that have take the dangerous gamble to make it legal show a clear pattern of rises in general suicide and poor and disabled people left in the dust, abandoned by the medical community, insurance companies, and their local governments. What kind of society gives the terminally ill and suffering the keys to their own death with the stamp of legal sanction? Does Colorado really want to lead society down that path?
