In an interview with Newsmax TV, TCA’s Ashley McGuire reacts to Pope Francis’ critical condition, describing this time as a prayerful moment for the faithful worldwide. She describes his greatest impact as “elevat[ing] our concern for the poor, the marginalized, and the suffering,” by connecting concern for “everything from the elderly to the unborn to the poor to the environment.” She emphasizes his successor will need to be someone who boldly brings clarity to the Church’s teachings and can unite Catholics around those teachings.
