Statement On Medicaid Funding For Abortion Clinics
“As the Supreme Court considers a case involving the use of Medicaid funding at abortion clinics, it is worth noting that the majority of Americans have consistently opposed taxpayer funding of abortion. And Americans are right to be gravely concerned about underwriting the dangers women face inside abortion clinics. The recent horror story from Illinois alleging an abortionist left half of a deceased baby inside a woman’s uterus – which he also perforated during the procedure – is reminiscent of the deadly crimes committed against women and children by Kermit Gosnell. Even the New York Times recently exposed widespread hazards at Planned Parenthood clinics littered with dirty medical tools and reeking of sewage. The abortion industry has lobbied against every commonsense and basic health and safety standard and puts vulnerable women and babies at risk. The Supreme Court should uphold the rights of states to direct taxpayer funding to safe medical facilities that provide real healthcare and away from dangerous abortion businesses.”
