The Catholic Association has filed an amicus brief in the case of Sharonell Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, asking the Supreme Court to hear this important case. At issue is whether the government can discriminate against faith-based adoption and foster care agencies because of their religious beliefs about marriage. TCA argues that when the government does so, it not only violates the Constitution, but it hurts vulnerable children the most. Our brief tells the stories of some of the foster parents and children whose lives have been transformed by the help of Catholic Social Services foster care programs in Philadelphia, whose government recently cut ties with the agency.
