James Joyce once wrote, “Being Catholic means ‘Here comes everybody.’” Throughout the world, the Church is a force for good, bringing aid to those need and joy to the suffering. The Church does this through its boundless charitable operations, its extensive hospital system, its widespread educational institutions, as well as in the countless houses of worship where Catholics come together peacefully every day. Headquartered in the Vatican, the Church also engages diplomatic institutions like the United Nations in defense of human dignity for all people and in pursuit of the common good.
