Ebony was 26 when she found herself facing an unplanned pregnancy. Today, she is the unwitting embodiment of the theme of today’s March for Life, “Love Saves Lives,” and the face of a Supreme Court case that will determine the fate of pregnancy resource centers. Centers like the one that changed Ebony’s life.
Ebony made the quick decision that so many women make in her shoes: She would have an abortion. She scheduled the appointment, but left the abortion clinic before having the procedure. She felt pressured by staff, one of whom told her, “The cost of raising the child will be far more expensive than the cost of an abortion.” In Ebony’s words, “It felt like someone was trying to make a sale.”
